3 Types of Effective Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising

In the previous article, we discussed what is SEO and how it can benefit your business.

In today’s article, we will look at the other end of the spectrum, which is Pay Per Click advertising.

While SEO requires 6 months to 2 years to see results, with Pay Per Click (PPC), you will get traffic to your website immediately.

In this article, we will discuss the different types of PPC to help scale your business and how PPC offers a different form of advertising as compared to offline advertising such as radio, TV, and billboard.

PPC is also much cheaper and more effective as compared to the offline advertising mediums.

Why is it so?

Look at the people around you. Everyone is on their phone and the hours spent on mobile and desktop far outweighs the time spent listening to the radio or watching TV.

By using PPC advertising, you will be able to reach your audience on the platform which they are currently spending their time.

Types Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising Services

Each PPC campaign requires different strategies that are designed to capture the attention of highly targeted audiences and send those group of audience to your website.

Prominent Pay Per Click services includes – Paid Search Ads, Video Advertising, and Display Ads.

Let’s look at each one of them:

#1 – Paid Search Advertising

Paid search advertising is the top 4 results you see on Google when you enter a specific keyword. In this example, let’s say we are searching for “best property in kl” on Google.

This is what we get at the top of the search results:

These 4 search results are paid search advertising as you can see small “Ad” sign beside the website URL.

So each time when someone clicks on that search result and land on their website, Google will charge the person who runs this advertisement. This is why the model is called Pay Per Click.

As for how much does it cost, it depends on the competitiveness of the keyword you are advertising, the higher the competition, the more expensive the click would be.

With plenty of people searching on Google each day, using the paid search advertising model can help you land plenty of new customers.

#2 – Display Advertising

Moving onto display advertising. Display advertising are the banner ads you see on various websites.

For example:

These ads will often appear in the sidebar of a website. With display advertising, you can which website you want your ads to appear, which depends on how much budget you have.

#3 – Video Advertising

Video advertising is again another form of effective online advertising. You can have your videos appear in Youtube In-stream ads.

Youtube will charge you when people are watching more than 5 seconds of your video. If they click skip ad, you will not be charged.

By watching your video, the target audience has already expressed an interest in your products and services. Include a call to action at the end of the video and direct them to your website’s landing page.

Conclusion

We have discussed the various types of pay per click (PPC) advertising and how it helps to generate immediate traffic to your website.

Instead of trying all forms of advertising, we recommend starting with one form of PPC advertising first before moving onto the other types of advertising. Test the ads on both mobile and desktop and assess which device is performing the best. You can then allocate more budget to that device to give you a better ROI.

      Hi Jan,

Great to hear from you. It’s always challenging to start the journey as a young entrepreneur, but hey, this is what makes life fun!

Have you tried retargeting your audience? What is your objective? Capture leads? Sell a product?
For SEO, while backlinks are important, I would first focus on internal linking between pages and posts. Once the on-page SEO is done, you can focus on backlinks.

By the way, the exchange of links does not really work and Google might find it suspicious, instead, I recommend using a technique called PIN, which is written by Viperchill >> http://www.viperchill.com/private-link-building/
